Brain Injury Awareness Month

We all know somebody who has been impacted by Brain Injury, whether it happens to ourselves or someone we know. Brain Injury is the leading cause of death and disability for many age groups, including children and the elderly.

There are:
  • 4,657 Brain Injuries a day in the United States
  • 1,700,000 Brain Injuries a year
  • 5,300,000 Americans live with a Brain Injury
Discover the resources that the BIAWA has to offer.

BIAWA offers support through the Washington Brain Injury Resource Center, resource manager, Brain Health & Wellness classes, support groups, social engagement opportunities, and more. BIAWA has also compiled Brain Injury: What you Need to Know, a guide for survivors of Brain Injury, their loved ones, caregivers, and professionals who serve them.

Share your story.

The Brain Injury community is woven together by the stories that we share. Our stories are honest, sometimes emotional, and often times inspiring. By sharing your story and the services of BIAWA with your community, you are raising awareness for a cause that affects so many. Need some inspiration? Watch Dave’s story here.

Give.

The work of BIAWA wouldn’t be possible without your support. Your generous contribution will go towards ensuring that all survivors of Brain Injury, their caregivers, and their loved ones have the support and services that they deserve.
